Unexamined Nature Analytics

A private, read-only analytics tool for the Unexamined Nature YouTube channel.

What it does

Unexamined Nature Analytics is a command-line tool that runs on the channel operator's own computer. It is part of the channel's internal production tooling. After the channel owner signs in with Google, it reads the channel's own YouTube data and writes local reports about how the channel's videos perform: views, watch time, audience retention, traffic sources, impressions and click-through rate.

Who can use it

Only the operator of the Unexamined Nature channel, for that channel. It is not a public service. There is no web app, no account sign-up and no hosted backend. This website exists only to describe the tool and its privacy policy.

Google access it requests

• youtube.readonly: view the channel's YouTube account data (channel and video details).
• yt-analytics.readonly: view YouTube Analytics reports for the channel.

Both are read-only. The tool cannot upload, edit or delete videos, comments, playlists or channel settings.
